A Letter from Our CEO

April 14, 2025.
Dear Compass Affordable Housing Community,
When we are facing difficult and confusing times, it can be easy to lose sight of our work and purpose. In the past several weeks there have been many challenges and some that threaten to disrupt the work of Compass Affordable Housing and our partners. Not knowing the near or long-term consequences of changes to federal funding, local and national budgets, programs we rely on and those effects on individual households make our work harder and seems more daunting.
However, when reflecting on the milestones that Compass Affordable Housing has reached, our collaborations with the community, your support, and the successes the households we serve have achieved gives me hope.
It helps to remember that we are capable of overcoming challenges and to focus on the value of the lives of the people we support and work with. Our motivation is found by working with one family at a time as well as assisting the broader community make changes. Hope encourages us to persevere through difficult situations and believe in the possibility of a better future. It helps us to stay focused on our goals and to act, even when facing setbacks.
Rest assured that the staff and board members at Compass Affordable Housing are working diligently to continue helping the thousands of people we serve each year. We are fortunate to work with and witness households achieve stability and independence and make good changes despite the odds stacked against them. With your support, I know we at Compass Affordable Housing can do the same.
Sincerely,

Maryann Beerling
Chief Executive Officer
